Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Front Desk Security Ambassador with excellent communication and customer service skills to work in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters.  Effectively answer and direct all incoming calls to appropriate team members, greet all PPLA team members, vendors, and visitors to Headquarters, identify and report all security concerns to security team, insure everyone who enters PPLA Headquarters checks in at the front desk and has a visible PPLA badge or PPLA issued visitors sticker, and other duties as assigned by security leadership.

Our Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One (1) year receptionist experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • First aid/CPR certified or ability to be certified within the first 60 days of employment.

About the position:

  •     Abortion patients are cared for at each of our health centers and in part through the administrative, support, and other non-clinical services provided at all PPLA locations and by all PPLA employees, and supporting these critical services is an essential job duty and fundamental responsibility of all employees and contractors.  
  • Check and appropriately handles the operator’s voice mail as the first task of each day.
  • Responds to all incoming telephone calls, screening and routing calls to appropriate person/department in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Identifies and handles significant callers appropriately.
  • Courteously greets visitors to the building and provides information and assistance as needed.
  • Understands security policies and procedures .
  • Maintains and sends weekly reception schedule and communication to Agency admins.
  • Sends all staff emails re: meetings, parking and general updates.
  • Manages daily visitor log.
  • Maintains Agency parking lot log and updates parking assignments in Excel. Distribute parking passes accordingly
  • Maintains conference room schedule and Agency event calendar.
  • Maintains lobby area.
  • Assist with general administrative support such as bulk mailing projects, supplemental typing and various other functions for other departments at instruction of supervisor.
  • Comply with emergency/security procedures regarding phone and visitors as instructed.
  • Be alert to possible security problems; record and/or report them promptly.
  • Responsible for monitoring the security TV screen and alerting Security to any problems which may arise.
  • Keeps up-to-date with current Agency services, programs, policies and procedures.
