Freight Analyst

Full-Time

As we continue our rapid growth, we are looking for an oil and gas freight analyst to join our Market Analysis team in Singapore.This exciting opportunity will allow you to combine your understanding of commercial freight markets with insights derived from our intelligent analytics platform to develop and drive new analytical and research solutions.

In this role you will:

  • Work in close collaboration with the global analyst team in London, Singapore, Houston, New York and Dubai to build a comprehensive view of shipping market activity in oil and gas markets.
  • Maintain top-notch data quality for Vortexa’s market-leading freight related datasets. 
  • Work to fulfil client requests as well as providing customers with analytical support.
  • Contributing on in-house reports on deadline, developing and enriching freight-related content on Vortexa’s publications.
  • Create and maintain a robust library of examples and use-cases on how Vortexa-derived insights influence or relate to key freight market developments.
  • Attend relevant industry events as well as participate in internal and external webinars representing Vortexa’s core values and take pride in building and maintaining a strong network of industry contacts. 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a freight market analyst or researcher
  • A deep understanding of freight market trading, including short-term and long-term market drivers, chartering strategy and pricing structures.
  • Excellent analysis and numeracy skills, with advanced Excel and data analysis proficiency.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • A results-oriented outlook and are able to efficiently prioritise multiple tasks with limited supervision.

You ideally have...

  • Experience within the research team of a tanker and gas shipbroker, owner, or charterer.
  • Experience in oil & gas  freight market coverage
