About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced musician to recompose the classic Christmas song in a jazz style. The new composition will need to feature piano, bass, drums, and guitar, creating a smooth yet festive feel to match the lighthearted yet meaningful journey of a Christmas bauble. The film tells the story of a bauble's adventure to reach the top of a Christmas tree, only to realize that happiness is found in family and friends rather than status. The music will play a crucial role in complementing the visual storytelling, with moments of excitement, tension, and heartfelt warmth.

Responsibilities:

• Recompose “Jingle Bell Rock” into a jazz style, incorporating piano, bass, drums, and guitar.
• Align the composition with the narrative arc, emphasizing the bauble's chase, challenges, and eventual realization.
• Collaborate with the animator to ensure the music complements key story beats, including moments of tension and heartwarming resolution.
• Provide a polished and professional recording of the recomposed track to be synced with the animated short film.
• Adjust the composition if needed, based on feedback, to ensure the perfect mood and tone are captured.

Requirements

• Proven experience in jazz composition and performance, with a strong understanding of jazz arrangements for piano, bass, drums, and guitar.
• Ability to creatively rework and reimagine existing songs in a fresh and original style.
• A strong sense of timing and storytelling through music, especially for animation or film.
• Experience collaborating with animators, filmmakers, or other visual artists is a plus.
