Codasip is hiring a

FPGA Engineer

Munich, Germany
Full-Time

We’re looking for an FPGA Engineer to join our Security team and be part of realizing a whole new paradigm in semiconductors and microprocessor design. The role is wide and varied and involves the design of digital IP, integration of IP into existing system-level platforms, and the development of new platforms that combine the IP with our customized RISC-V cores. The first project you will be involved with is an EU-funded project called Listen2Future, where we are tasked with developing a secure platform on FPGA. The project is focused on developing and using high-bandwidth MEMS microphones for various applications including medical monitoring and predictive maintenance within critical national infrastructure.

Our Security team is a mixed team with expert architecture, design, hardware, software, and testing capabilities. We sit within the Codasip Labs department, which is the innovation hub of Codasip. We evaluate new technology that shows commercial potential and evolve that technology to the point where it can be made into a product. As part of this journey, we design IP and build FPGA platforms in order to create proof-of-concepts and technology demonstrators.

The role demands flexibility, determination, and lateral thinking.

  • Department: Labs
  • Employment: Full-time
  • Experience level: Mid-Senior
  • Location of work: Munich, Germany
  • Please note this role is only open to candidates with working rights in Germany

What will you do?

  • RTL design for hardware blocks on the FPGA platform.
  • Integrate components into FPGA platforms and modify platforms for application-specific use.
  • Contribute to the design, and be responsible for, the development of RISC-V-based FPGA Platforms.
  • Work closely with verification/validation and embedded software engineers to solve technical challenges

Requirements

The following skills are essential to perform the job duties:

  • Demonstrable experience in RTL design in either VHDL/Verilog or SystemVerilog
  • Commercial experience with Xilinx/AMD FPGA development flows using Vivado
  • Familiarity with FPGA boards and physical test equipment
  • Practical expertise in versioning tools (preferably git)
  • Good technical communication skills
  • Pro-active problem solver, able to work individually or as a team member

The following skills and experience are nice to have:

  • Embedded software experience (C/C++)
  • Experience with RISC-V processors
  • Security experience (e.g. development of a cryptographic accelerator)
  • Active interest in the field and self-education
  • Customer-facing experience
