Our client is a rapidly growing YC-backed Toronto-based DataTech startup, experiencing unbelievable global growth in the trucking & logistics space! We are recruiting for a Founding Engineer (Node.js) to join their small but mighty team out of their DT Toronto office. On-site role - 4x/week (Mon-Thurs). $150-200k/base + Meaningful Equity Responsibilities: Enhance their core integration framework Design and deliver new features on their data platform that add value to a global customer base Contribute to code reviews and share best practices to uphold their high standards across the org Create tooling and patterns that improve testing, platform reliability, and observability Qualifications: 4+yrs of back-end dev experience, w/ 3+yrs focused on Node.js and TypeScript Advanced knowledge of Node.js internals and TypeScript, including comfort w/ generics 2+yrs of exp designing and building on AWS Exp with serverless and event-driven architectures (Lamdba, SQS, AWS etc) Nice to have: exp building batch or streaming data pipelines at TB+ scale Stack Back-end: Node.js (TypeScript) deployed w/ SST / AWS serverless architecture Fron-end: Next.js / styling w/ Tailwind and Shadcn Infrastructure as Code: SST and AWS CDK CI/CD: Github Actions Data Processing Data processing: AWS Glue, Apache Flink, Kafka, Iceber, DuckDB
