We are seeking a Foster Care & Adoption Recruiter to join our Program. As a Foster Care & Adoption recruiter, you will Shine Hope by providing strategic planning and implementation of community networking and recruitment efforts for the Buckner Foster Care and Adoption program through recruitment of qualified foster and adoptive families, community outreach, and promoting the program through extensive relationship building efforts across the Beaumont and Lufkin areas of Texas. What you'll do:
- Responsible for the planning and implementation of a recruitment and outreach strategy for the foster care and adoption programs to the assigned targeted area.
- Collaborate with DFCA locations on developing and achieving their local recruitment plan through training, engaging internal stakeholders within Buckner appropriately, and engaging external stakeholders to overcome barriers identified in recruitment plans.
- Work closely with Foster Care and Adoption Leadership to develop a strategic recruitment and promotion plan, responsible for implementation and regular assessment of the effectiveness of these plans. Communicate monthly with the Supervisor about progress being made in these areas.
- Communicate and develop ongoing relationships with churches, educational centers, community organizations and other sources throughout the assigned targeted area rea to coordinate speaking engagements for foster care and adoption recruitment.
- Arrange and lead Informational meetings throughout the state to promote the foster care and adoption program. Arrange families to speak at information meetings, workshops and seminars.
- Receive inquiry phone calls and emails from interested families, educate them regarding basic requirements, and provide them with pre-application and foster/adoption guide.
- Participate in community collaborative Meetings on a regular basis to assist in Foster/Adopt recruitment.
- Responsible for adhering to an organized system to follow up and track families who have previously inquired with the foster care/adopt programs to aid in recruitment efforts.
- Responsible for learning and understanding Buckner foster care and adoption requirements, policies and procedures and communicate accurately to the community.
- Utilize excellent public speaking skills to successfully communicate with a multi-ethnic population base in the community.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field plus experience in the public relations and marketing field.
- Minimum 2 years prior related experience in child placement preferred.
- Requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner’s insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.
- Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
- Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
