FORMULATION SCIENTIST
- Development and preparation of prototype formulations (solutions, suspensions, dispersions, etc.) for exploratory studies for in-vivo models. This activity includes development of both oral and parenteral dosage forms on small scale.
- Routine preparation of solution and suspension formulations for use in preclinical studies.
- Measurement of key active compound and formulation properties (such as solubility dissolution, permeation, stability, self association, etc)
- Assessment of the chemical and physical properties of small molecules
- Assessment of the performance of prototype formulations using in-vitro tests (non-sink dissolution, precipitation, etc.).
- Identifying potential stability and performance issues with prototype formulations and investigate solutions.
- Development of protocols for preparation of formulations at other sites, internal and external
- Shipment of samples to other sites and external sites.
- Routine lab support (pH meter calibration, mobile phase preparation, etc)
- Bachelor’s degree in science or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience
- At least one year experience in formulation development
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
