The role of Forklift Driver is pivotal in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Warehouse by facilitating the accurate inventory and repair of equipment needed for the Art Shows, and other South Florida Ventures events dependent upon availability.
Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment and maintaining a safe and orderly workspace. Forklift Driver is expected to adhere strictly to safety guidelines and company policies while collaborating with team members to meet productivity goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Driving and operating a forklift to select, pull, sort and stack product within the warehouse.
- Reviewing documents and products to record inventory: verify quantity, identity, availability and condition.
- Performing order, packer and loader duties as assigned (may include the moving/loading of equipment manually when necessary).
- Supporting on-site for pre-show, show and post-show production, including manual labor and operating of heavy equipment (may include outside work in the elements for long durations).
- Reporting to Director of Operations regarding any damage to racks, faulty equipment, or any other safety hazards.
- Performing general clean-up tasks to keep work area clean and free of excess debris.
- Performing routine pre- and post-inspections to ensure suitable working nature of forklift equipment.
- Open to being cross trained for multiple positions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. on-site of shows/events as necessary.
- Capable of bending, stooping, and reaching overhead.
- Comfortable working in varied temperatures and environments, including indoors and outdoors.
- Good vision and hearing to operate equipment safely and communicate effectively.
- 1 + year of Equipment Experience.
- Forklift Certification preferred (company sponsored training and certification).
- Willing and able to learn New Products, Concepts and Techniques.
- Clean driving record.
- Warehouse or retail experience.
- Ability to safely use power tools.
- Ability to work independently.
- Extremely cautious and aware.
- Responsible and courteous.
- Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
- Basic carpentry skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to self-manage and assist fellow team members.
- Full-time attendance is a requirement of this job during events and at the depot during non-event periods.
The pay range for this position is $18-$20 / hour depending on experience.
