LOCATION: This position is an onsite role, based in Indianapolis, IN at the Clif Bar Plant.

Mission: Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor will assist in the management of quality control activities for all phases of production, personnel, and laboratory operations.  Schedules and assigns workloads; and maintains close rapport with production to identify, solve, and prevent problems affecting quality.  Directs product quality surveillance of manufacturing areas with possible HACCP monitoring, conducts periodic facility inspections and may perform daily bacteriological environmental inspections in critical plant areas; supervises inspections for incoming materials, end-of-run products, etc.  Coordinates with production in the monitoring of packaging lines for effective control of weights, metal detection, codes and product/package integrity.    

Responsibilities & Outcomes:

• Conduct GMP and food safety inspections and management team.
• Execute pathogen monitoring program.
• Disposition of product including investigation of holds.
• Prepare hold reports and root cause analysis.
• Review all lab results for issues and completion.
• Estimate supply costs for budget purposes.
• Manage reporting and communication of weekly KPIs, kosherization scheduling, and process logs
• Maintain product quality forms and documents.
• Support lab staffing needs as support and back-up, including planning weekly assignments, arranging temps when needed, troubleshooting and maintaining lab equipment.
• General plant support for new products and R&D trials.
• General plant troubleshooting including investigation of complaint reports, consumer complaints, participate in sanitation alerts and root cause analysis.
• Supervise Quality Technicians (hourly) 
• In the absence of the FSQ Supervisor, it is the responsibility of the FSQ Specialist or another FSQ Supervisor to cover those responsibilities
• In the absence of an FSQ Specialist or another FSQ Supervisor, it the responsibility of the FSQ Supervisor to ensure their tasks are covered including serving as the backup SQF practitioner.

• Assist with maintenance of SQF Certification 
• Manage finished good rework reports
• Ensures Quality procedures are updated and maintained per annual reviews
• Train the Quality Technicians 
• Assist in ordering supplies
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
