What You Should Have
We are seeking a Firefighting Design Engineer to deliver innovative LNG supply and energy solutions to our clients. As part of an interconnected team, you will provide engineering and consultancy services to the energy sector from project development to front-end engineering design (FEED). As part of the AFRY team, you will be involved in Pre-FEED, FEED, and PMC LNG-to-Power projects in Asia. You should be able to develop Fire Protection Design of the FEED design for different LNG terminals that include onshore and floating and interconnection with power plants.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for developing firefighting design deliverables for pre-FEED and FEED projects, complying to both international and Vietnamese codes and standards. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Developing philosophy documents: Fire Protection System Philosophy, Fire and Gas Detection Philosophy
- Performing calculation: Fire Water Demand Calculation, Fire Water Hydraulic Calculation, Fire Water Pump Sizing, Calculation for Fire water Tank, Dry Chemical Extinguishing Calculation, Foam System Calculation, Fire Extinguisher Calculation
- Preparing specification: Fire Fighting System Specification, Specification for Firewater Monitor, Specification for Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishing System, Specification for Hi-Ex Foam System, Specification for Clean Agent Gaseous Fire Suppression System, Specification for Passive Fire Protection
- Developing datasheet: Electrical Firewater Pump, Diesel Firewater Pump, Firewater Jockey Pumps, Firewater Tank Deluge Valves, Clean Agent Fire Suppression System, Firewater Monitors & Towers, Hi-Ex Foam Generator, Dry Chemical Powder System
- Developing drawing: Hazardous Area Classification Layout, Firefighting Equipment Layout, Escape Route, Fire and Gas Detector Plan & Block Diagram
- Developing P&ID: UFD for Fire Water System, UFD for Foam System, P&ID Fire Water System, P&ID for Foam System, P&ID for Dry Chemical System
- Developing other deliverables such as Equipment List for Fire Fighting System, Fire Fighting MTO
Requirements
- Engineering degree (Chemical, Mechanical, Safety, or Fire Protection is preferable)
- 5-10 years of experience as a Firefighting Design Engineer
- Experience with LNG Terminal fire protection design is an advantage
- Proficient in using design software for firewater system calculation such as Pipenet or equivalent
- Familiar with both international (NFPA) and local (TCVN, QCVN) codes and standards relating to fire protection system
- Excellent communication and report writing skills in English
- This position is based in AFRY Hanoi office
