What you’ll be doing as a Technical Support Engineer;
- You’ll be based remotely / from home providing support to our engineering and sales teams nationally.
- Diagnosing faults and assisting with the design of Fire Alarms and Emergency Lighting Systems, as well as with Intruder Alarms, CCTV and Electronic Access Control systems
- Awareness and understanding of innovative technologies such as Remotely Monitored Systems and IP networks.
- Have regular contact with key stakeholders including Sellers, Operations Managers, and Customers.
- Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, branches and engineers when diagnosing faults, and adopt suitable language to suit the target audience
- Conduct comprehensive product evaluation, to assist in assessments which will drive strategic decisions
- Act as Chubb’s ‘subject matter expert’ on the areas of specific competence, and supporting colleagues in similar roles
- Creation of technical documentation, bulletins, toolbox talks, and work instructions.
- Being able to conduct effective site meetings as required to support both engineers and/or sales and be confident to lead technical meetings or seminars with customers and influencers.
- Proficient in producing clearly written reports as required.
- Able to effectively communicate with individuals of varying competences.
- Ability to assist with technical training issues and liaising with the technical and sales trainers
What We Would Like You to Bring
- Ideally be an experienced industry professional with knowledge of fire and security products and systems (fire alarms, emergency lighting, Intruder Alarms, CCTV and EAC)
- Be experienced in dealing pro-actively with major clients and internal departments
- Great communication skills for our internal and external customers
- Be analytical with the ability to spot trends and propose changes to mitigate risks
- Have strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
- Naturally inquisitive, with the desire to understand ‘why’, and shape the future of the technology we adopt
