Financial Systems Analyst - Remote

ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Financial Systems Analyst to join the Strategy & Analysis! Individual reports to Manager, Strategy & Analysis. Role is remote; must reside in the United States.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Financial Systems Analyst with a focus on automation will play a crucial role in enabling strategic data-driven decision-making by providing valuable data and insights to the business through data analysis, process improvement, and automation. You will be joining a small group of talented analysts, within the greater Finance organization, focused on process improvement and automation. We aim to give back time, currently lost to repetitive and unnecessary tasks, for more crucial high-value activities. You will leverage your expertise in SQL, Python, Alteryx, and Tableau, along with your obsession to connect with and help those around you to support and enhance our business strategies.  

You will help identify and reduce costs and redundancy through a focus on process automation and system integration. The team will work with the business to improve existing processes or be consulted for new processes. We make strategic recommendations to the business to help them meet or exceed our company goals. 

As a Financial Systems Analyst, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide critical insights, analysis, and recommendations that will influence our business strategies and decision-making processes. Your responsibilities will grow over time but will start focused in four main categories:

Your usual day of awesomeness includes:  

Process Automation

• Learning/documenting/replicating existing processes
• Upgrading processes with reliable automation (SQL/python/alteryx) 
• Demonstrated success and ongoing monitoring (SQL/Tableau/Looker) 
• Measure the impact of improvements

Business Strategy and Growth

• Identify and demonstrate opportunities to improve existing processes, with an emphasis of converting manual processes to reliable automation
• Assess the impact of initiatives on internal effectiveness and efficiencies
• Collaborate on retrospectives and create actionable playbooks for business improvement
• Cultivate opportunities to improve data reliance and system integration

Financial Reporting and Analysis

• Assist in revenue recognition and reporting revenue sources
• Conduct cost analysis to optimize resource allocation
• Collaborate on team up-leveling initiatives and the creation of self-service SQL tools
• Manage project archives and develop analysis frameworks to streamline decision-making

Cross-functional Collaboration and Communication

• Collaborate effectively with teams across the organization to gather data and insights
• Communicate complex concepts and findings in a clear and concise manner
• Work on team initiatives to improve skills, knowledge sharing, and data documentation
• Share insights and expertise through both documentation and presentation to help foster growth in data-driven decision-making across departments

WHAT YOU BRING

• At least 2 - 5 years of experience (SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, Python, Excel)
• Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis
• Proficiency in Python for data processing, statistical analysis, automation, and prototyping
• Strong problem-solutioning skills, favoring collaborative brainstorming  
• Emphasis on perfect execution over perfect planning
• Experience with process improvement, operational efficiency, &/or optimization is ideal
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities
• Experience in telecom or a related field is a plus
• Relevant technical/financial education with a preference for graduate level studies  
• Demonstrated experience/project portfolio may substitute for education expectations
• Experience with Atlasian products is a plus (Jira, confluence, bitbucket…)

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $80,000 - $120,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.  We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, and company paid holidays.  The specific programs available will vary depending on state, start date, and employment type.
