AppZen located in San Jose, is currently seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Manager FP&A, reporting directly to the Senior Director of FP&A. This role is expected to be in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
As our Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you will be a key contributor for the financial operations of our rapidly growing company. You will be responsible for providing financial planning, modeling, forecasting, and business partner support to the FP&A team and overall business. You must be hands-on with a “roll up your sleeves" mentality and should enjoy a fast-paced, start-up environment as well as the demonstrated experience building and scaling financial systems and processes. Equally important to strong financial and business partner skills, the individual will embrace change and the task of creating an infrastructure to support future growth as the Company expands. Particularly important traits and skills include curiosity, intelligence, logical thinking, ability to prioritize, enthusiasm for change. This position will support the annual planning process, monthly close, rolling forecasting, and preparing Board and management reports and analysis. The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Support all corporate financial planning including quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, long-term modeling, and ad hoc analysis
- Accurately analyze and explain key ARR, billings, revenue and cost drivers and month-end variances
- Support month end close by partnering with accounting and the business
- Prepare presentations in support of board meetings, monthly/quarterly senior leadership meetings of the company.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to support strategic decision-making, including forecasting ARR, revenue, expenses, and commission
- Provide reporting, insight and analysis of the monthly and quarterly financial package
- Provide finance business partner support across the business delivering meaningful insight and financial decision support.
- Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources.
- Lead and support future finance planning systems implementation and process improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to continually improve metrics alignment, consistency, data integrity, and automation
- Act as a resource to strategic partners across the business, delivering meaningful insight and financial decision support.
Qualifications:
- BS in Finance, Accounting Economics or related field; MBA bonus
- 8+ years of experience at high growth technology; start up experience preferred
- Strong financial modeling, business planning, and corporate planning experience
- Proven experience working in a SaaS or other subscription-based company, with a deep understanding of recurring revenue models and customer lifetime value
- Experience using and implementing financial planning software, NetSuite, SFDC, and commissions tools
- Strong analytical and problem solving skill with attention to detail
- Ability to create detailed financial models and forecasts, applying quantitative analysis to drive business performance improvements
