** This is a Rochester , NY in-office position
We are looking for Financial Data Analyst that will be responsible for surfacing data-driven results and insights for our business leaders. In this position, you will provide operational, performance, and financial analysis to frame data-driven decisions - and help implement KPIs and OKRs to track initiative progress/performance to encourage a focus on results and execution.
As part of the finance team but working collaboratively with other departments, you will be exposed to a wide range of functions and develop the knowledge and skills to be a trusted analyst to our business stakeholders. Critical to the success of this role is your ability to develop insightful analysis, work effectively as part of a cross-functional team, and transform data into insights.
Responsible for:
- Build and maintain basic data models, queries, and reports that reliably and predictably answer business questions from various departments.
- Utilize analytics and metrics visualization tools.
- Troubleshoot and investigates data anomalies.
- Identify trends in data, including segment metrics along suitable dimensions.
- Work closely with finance team and with the company’s leadership team to support the development of data requirements for each team.
- Assemble customer, sales, financial, and other data from various sources and prepare consolidated reports and dashboards utilizing that data.
- Deep dive into both technical and operational portions of the business and contribute to constructive technical and strategy discussions.
- Improve dataset quality and automate manual processes.
- Set up and maintain data inputs and outputs between our business systems; understanding the meaning and relationships between the source data.
- Recognizing, understanding, and interpreting the trends and anomalies in financial data

What experience you need ( degree, experience, specific skills etc:
- Familiarity with financial terms such as EBITDA, accruals, and revenue recognition methods
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a data-driven/analytics role or equivalent coursework
- Understand how to use one or more tools such as Tableau, AWS Quick Sight, and PowerBI
- Demonstrated experience building reports, dashboards, and other data visualizations.
- Knowledgeable in a variety of methods for querying, processing, persisting, analyzing, and presenting data.
- Basic knowledge of and experience with database querying (SQL)
- Excellent problem-solving skills, self-motivated with the capacity to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills
- Aptitude and drive to learn new tools quickly.
- Intellectual curiosity with a focus on unearthing new challenges
- Practical experience with data integrations involving Salesforce.com or other CRM and ERP systems.
