Role:
The plant financial analyst position functions as a business support person to the plant and financial management team. The role will be instrumental in bringing analytical analyses to leadership team to enable decisions that directly impact business performance and outcomes. The position supports month-end close and special projects as requested, and works closely with manufacturing to understand issues and how they impact the financial results as well as educate/inform department(s) on cost divers and variances. This position will provide accounting support through review and validation of material transactions and processes to increase the accuracy of our financial statements. This position provides the candidate with opportunities to identify, lead, and drive process improvements, while working in a team environment and interact with multiple functions across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Work to implement and apply cost accounting policies and procedures.
- Analyze financial performance and create action plans for unfavorable gaps.
- Prepare and process assigned daily/monthly journal entries.
- Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators
- Support the local plant budgeting process of the fixed and variable expenses.
- Assist with cycle counting coordination and record inventory adjustments
- Analyze product manufacturing cost
- Partner with inventory control in investigating inventory discrepancies and create action plans to resolve identified gaps.
- Support Plant Controller’s efforts for implementing and maintaining internal controls.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and or cost reduction and making recommendations
- Back up other duties as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
- Knowledge or experience in meat or food processing industry preferred but not required
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to details
- Proficient to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, namely Excel
- SAP experience is a +
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Action oriented with ability to multi-task
- Team player with a positive, can do attitude and agility to multiple work streams
Travel:
0% – 5%. Travel is possible, but rare.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
This role is based in a processing facility and individuals in this role are expected to spend time on the plant floor. While at the facility, employee will be subject to extreme temperatures, humid/wet environments and other hazards common to a food manufacturing facility
