Financial Analyst, Accounting Policy (12 Month Contract)

The Financial Analyst (12 Month Contract) at Docebo plays a crucial role in supporting the company’s financial accounting activities. This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of revenue in our financial statements. The analyst will collaborate closely with the finance team and key stakeholders across the company to analyze, document and record significant revenue contracts. Their work is essential to maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Review and interpret contracts: Analyze agreements with customers and apply revenue recognition principles to ensure compliance with IFRS 15 accounting standards.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation to support revenue recognition decisions, ensuring audit trails are clear and well-supported.
  • Analyze financial data: Collect, monitor, and study financial data to provide insights into revenue trends and provide actionable insights that drive business decisions.
  • Collaborate with departments: Work closely with various departments such as legal, sales, and deals desk teams to identify significant revenue-impacting terms of customer contracts.
  • Ensure compliance: Maintain compliance with financial regulations and standards, ensuring all financial practices align with GAAP and other relevant guidelines.
  • Assist in audits: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and explanations of financial practices.
  • Assist implementation efforts: Support the broader Accounting Policy team in implementation initiatives for new IFRS accounting standards or new internal processes.

  • Effective communication skills are essential, as you’ll need to collaborate with different departments and present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are also key. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is an asset.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools such as Excel; experience with financial software like SAP or Oracle is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and other relevant financial regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be working toward a CPA designation.
