ABOUT TOZERO
At tozero, we’re pioneering sustainable lithium-ion battery recycling to recover essential materials like lithium, nickel, cobalt, and graphite. Our goal is to create a scalable recycling solution that powers a circular battery economy, reducing resource waste and environmental impact.
Since our launch in 2022, we’ve made rapid progress. After securing €3.5 million in pre-seed funding, we built our prototype plant in Munich. Now, with an additional €11 million seed round, we’re on the path to full-scale production. Our diverse team, representing over 10 nationalities, is united by a shared mission to make a tangible impact on the planet
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Finance & Strategy Lead at tozero, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving our financial and operational strategy, directly impacting our mission to scale battery recycling sustainably. Your financial expertise will shape our growth, guide strategic decision-making, and ensure effective fundraising.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead Fundraising Initiatives: Spearhead financing efforts, connecting with investors and securing grants and funding aligned with our vision.

Investor Relations: Collaborate with investors and board members, delivering financial insights to support strategic alignment.

Financial Planning & Analysis: Drive budgeting, forecasting, and in-depth financial analysis to inform strategic goals.

Operational Excellence: Oversee accounting, tax, and treasury, ensuring robust internal controls and financial policies.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- You bring 5+ years in finance, with a solid track record in investment banking, management consulting, or leadership roles in dynamic startups. Your experience includes securing significant funding and managing financial operations.
- A strong background in finance is a must, with an MBA being a plus.
- You excel in breaking down complex data and enjoy working with numbers to facilitate informed decisions.
- You’re comfortable discussing technical aspects with investors and partners, helping optimize our offerings in line with financial goals.
- You're skilled at engaging with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
- You can juggle multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
- You thrive in fast-paced environments, tackling challenges with creativity and a proactive approach.
- You know how to inspire and lead a diverse team toward shared objectives.
