About the role
The role of the Finance Manager is to prepare the financial and management reporting of Splend’s Australia operations and work closely with the Group Financial Controller. The Finance Manager will demonstrate the ability to develop trust-based relationships with senior executives and deliver open and on-going management reporting. The position will serve as a key business partner to all stakeholders providing critical information on the operating performance and financial results of the business. In addition, this position will provide all information required as part of the financial monthly and annual process.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and managing all aspects of finance including:
- Preparation of monthly financial reports covering balance sheet, profit and loss, internal management reports and cashflow statements
- Coaching and mentoring junior staff
- Providing commentary and analysis on company performance to the management team
- Managing the general ledger including oversight of the monthly balance sheet, banking and inter-company reconciliations
- Assistance with tax compliance including GST, FBT and Payroll
- Completion of the monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Overseeing and understanding treasury arrangements and overseeing all company transfers, payments and cashflow planning
- Weekly cash flow planning and reporting
- Ensuring Accounting standards and policies are adhered to
- Assist with year-end reporting
- Work closely with other team leads to ensure timely close of monthly ledgers
- Assist and have direct input into process improvement and system enhancement initiatives
- Proactively identify new initiatives or revisions that could benefit the organisation
- Ensure that integrity and controls are maintained with bolt on financial systems and plug ins
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in either accounting or finance with a CPA/CA professional membership
- Minimum 3-4 years accounting experience
- Staff management experience
- An audit practice background with commercial experience (desirable)
- Business as usual tax compliance knowledge (desirable)
- Must be confident with NetSuite and have demonstratable experience
- Experience with system migrations or new software implementations and process documentation (desirable)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident dealing with senior stakeholders
- Ability to solve complex issues and work under pressure during busy periods
- Strong attention to detail
- Organised and pro-active approach
