We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our Finance team in Helsinki or London. You will play a key role in financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting the continuous improvement of financial processes.

As a Finance Manager at Smartly, you will...
- Lead the accounting for Smartly’s R&D capitalisation, leases, and assisting with share based payments under IFRS.
- Play a key role in month-end closing, assisting the Accounting team and preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
- Perform variance analysis on financial statements, providing insights into deviations from budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Own the implementation and ongoing monitoring of effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
- Contribute to the annual audit processes (both Group audit and local statutory audits), liaising with external auditors and ensuring all audit requirements are met.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline accounting functions and improve efficiency.
- Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
We're definitely looking for you, if you have...
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years accounting or audit experience, with Big-Four experience preferred.
- Technical knowledge of IFRS, particularly IAS 38, IFRS 2, IFRS 16 is advantageous.
- Experience in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems such as Netsuite.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic tech environment.
- Ability to work in the local Smartly office 3 days a week (more if you prefer).
