A beautiful estate in Hampshire, located within the South Downs National Park, is looking for an experienced Finance Manager. 

Rotherfield is a progressive mixed farming estate near Alton.  It comprises residential, commercial and agricultural property as well as commercial farming, forestry and environmental management.

POSITION

As Finance Manager you will oversee the full finance function, reporting to the FD and managing a small team across transactions and the month end process.  This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant who is looking to step up and lead the accounts team, to provide accurate financial reporting and useful management information to Team Leaders.

Duties will include:

·       Month end management accounts and cashflow forecasting

·       Monthly VAT returns

·       Payroll

·       Overseeing accurate financial accounting

·       Authorising and/or seeking authorisation and administration of payments

·       Preparation of information for external accountants for statutory accounts

·       Managing insurance across the estate

·       Team Lead for the accounts and office team

Requirements

The ideal candidate would meet the following criteria:

·       Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or similar experience

·       Robust expertise in technical accounting

·       Adept in Excel and accounts software and procedures.  We use Xero so previous experience would be helpful but not essential.

·       Previous payroll experience

·       Previous experience managing staff and effectively delegating tasks to team members

·       Previous experience of implementing processes to ensure accurate and timely month end reporting

·       Knowledgeable in preparation of statutory accounts

·       Interest and/or understanding farming and countryside would be helpful

·       A team player who is flexible and adaptive and works well under pressure

·       Ability to work with the utmost discretion

·       An attitude of continuous improvement
