The Department: Finance

The Financial Operations and Accounting Teams at Gemini are thought leaders in the digital asset accounting and finance space. Our mandate is to bridge the traditional world of finance with the innovation of cryptocurrency products, providing our clients with a best-in-class financial institution experience.

The Role: Finance Manager

Gemini is seeking a motivated finance manager with a drive to operate in a high-growth environment and strong experience in accounting, tax, treasury and other finance-led areas requiring compliance with Indian rules / regulations. The person should be a chartered accountant in India and also have working familiarity with US GAAP as the role will require the individual to support US consolidation of the local Indian entity and related activities on a time to time basis. The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, experience with complex finance topics, and an ability to communicate complex ideas with a wide array of stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • This is an individual contributor role requiring limited oversight.
  • Responsible for the month end statutory accounting in Indian ERP, closing related activities and also consolidation for Group entity in the US.
  • Responsible for day to day finance activities and managing various stakeholders.
  • Responsible for vendor payouts, employee reimbursements, reconciliations, and maintaining books on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for liasoning with banks for inward remittances and monthly invoices to US.
  • Should have experience on FEMA, GST, Income tax rules and regulations.
  • Should have working experience dealing with Transfer pricing matters.
  • Responsible for US related accounting activities (US GAAP accounting) required on time to time basis.
  • Responsible for liaising and managing the day-to-day relationship with the local Big 4 auditor to achieve all required reporting deadlines.
  • Responsible for performing, documenting, and designing internal controls over financial reporting, as well as interactions with the Internal Audit department as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A Chartered Accountant in India.
  • 5/6+ years of experience post qualification, preferably Big 4 and industry experience working for a fin-tech or financial service entity.
  • CPA (or equivalent) Preferred Comprehensive and current understanding of US GAAP, including recently issued accounting pronouncements, and SEC reporting principles and regulations.
  • Able to work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work autonomously and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working through ambiguity to communicate clear accounting positions and operational solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Significant proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Experience with Looker, Netsuite / Sage, Floqast is a bonus.
  • Basic knowledge of blockchain technology and the crypto industry.
