Mina Foundation is seeking a Director of Strategic Accounting, FP&A, Tax & Audit to take our finance function to the next level, strategically supporting the entire organization on its ambitious roadmap. You will be reporting to the SVP of Finance and Business Operations and will be responsible for the management of internal and external resources, as well as supporting the Finance & Ops SVP and other senior management (COO, CEO, VP of Growth, Head of Product/Engineering, etc) with strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
Strategic Accounting, FP&A, Tax and Audit
- Manage outsourced accounting team and integrated QBO <> Ledgible reporting
- Manage external auditors and tax advisors
- Serve as expert accounting point of contact for business partners when issues arise regarding appropriate booking & recognition
- Ensure all applicable regulatory reporting is accurate and complete
- As required, conduct in-depth strategic financial scenario modeling to support business decisions
- Support SVP Finance in ongoing monthly budget vs. actuals reviews, ensuring actuals data is ready and accurate
Strategic Business Development
- Partner with Digital Asset portfolio manager to support the SVP Finance and COO to review and optimize Custody partners
- Partner with Digital Asset portfolio manager to optimize wallet structure; delegation program activities; re-balancings and Custody operations
- Partner with Digital Asset portfolio manager, Product & Engineering team to develop new tools (e.g. Smart contracts) to streamline operational processes & enhance controls
- Eventual assessment of QBO vs. Netsuite
- Partner with Business Development team on projects and analyses for new ventures
Requirements
- 7+ years experience in a accounting or finance role, including demonstrated success at managing internal and external teams
- 2+ years working specifically on Crypto Accounting, Tax and Regulatory matters
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment and able to take an ‘80/20’ approach
- Willingness to roll-up your sleeves and get your hands dirty
- Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Based in Europe
- German and English fluency. Any other languages a plus.
Ideal Candidate
- Accounting degree, or a degree in a similar field
- Knows US GAAP, Swiss GAAP and IFRS
- Highly competent at QBO and Netsuite and blockchain integration systems
- Experience in Swiss Federal, Cantonal and Communal taxes and related accounting requirement
- Knowledgeable on Swiss VAT requirements
