We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Director of Finance to join our dynamic and fast-growing cannabis company. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director of Finance will play a critical role in driving the financial strategy of the organization. This position will focus on budgeting, KPI reporting, financial modeling, treasury management, and operational efficiency to support informed decision-making and sustained growth in a highly regulated industry.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop, refine and manage the company’s annual strategic business plan, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Work with department heads to create accurate forecasts and monitor adherence to budgets. This includes revising forecasts quarterly as based on actual business trends
- Meet with department heads and the executive team on a normal cadence to review operating results and provide insights into revenue generation, effective management of spending and headcount related costs
- Provide quarterly revenue targets by facility and segment
- KPI Reporting and Financial Modeling:
- Design and implement new KPI dashboards and reporting frameworks to track financial and operational performance
- Provide regular insights and recommendations based on KPI trends to drive both financial and operational improvements.
- Creation and design of various internal management reporting tools
- Create and maintain monthly managerial reporting package, including variance analysis and internal management discussion and analysis
- Operational Support:
- Partner with the CFO to algin finance operations within the company’s strategic goals.
- Support audits, tax planning and compliance in a cannabis-regulated environment
- Provide financial insights for investment decisions and capital allocation.
- Finance Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering professional development and cross-department collaboration as well as understanding staffing and headcount needs of the department
- Drive efficiency improvements in financial processes and reporting systems
- Treasury Management:
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning and effective deployment of capital.
- Develop and maintain a robust cash forecast model
QUALIFICATIONS
- 21+ and currently residing in the USA
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with demonstrated ability to perform analysis, financial and operational modeling and KPI reporting
- Experience in the cannabis, CPG or other highly regulated industries is preferred
- Strong problem solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills
- Enthusiastic and positive energy
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and turn that information into actionable business insights to support financial and operational decision-making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex financial information clearly and concisely
- A strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”)

WORKING CONDITIONS

The warehouse environment may be subject to hot and cold temperatures, and ventilation may not be available in all areas. The warehouse environment may be subject to elevated noise volumes due to equipment, machinery, and the movement of goods. The warehouse may be subject to dirt, dust, cleaning solutions, chemicals, and debris from the handling of goods. The warehouse may have safety hazards such as slippery floors, moving equipment, and the presence of hazardous materials.
