Quince is a retail and technology company co-founded by a team that has extensive experience in retail, technology and building early stage companies. You’ll work with a team of world-class talent from Stanford GSB, Wish.com, D.E. Shaw, Stitch Fix, Urban Outfitters, Wayfair, McKinsey, Nike etc.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The Controller is a true builder at heart, and will report directly to the VP of Accounting of Quince.
We are looking for a Controller to lead Quince’s overall accounting and finance function. The Controller will build scalable and reliable accounting processes and valuable financial reporting for operational, business analytics, and planning purposes. We work with teams across the company, from data & engineering to marketing, to create efficient processes and manage spend. We are entrepreneurial in spirit and strategic in our approach to building the financials.

This role is a critical and strategic role and instrumental to the Company’s success. This leader will work cross-functionally throughout Quince to inspire and rapidly build a winning business.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and vision for scaling the Accounting team and our financial infrastructure to support Quince throughout our high-growth journey
- Oversee all accounting for the company’s India and China entities.
- Develop the team’s capabilities across the range of sub-functions: general ledger, tax, treasury, payroll, accounts payable, financial reporting, audit and legal.
- Ensure consistent implementation of corporate accounting principles and procedures in full compliance with US GAAP.
- Coaches and develops staff; planning, monitoring, and appraising performance ,Sets goals, objectives and priorities for Accounting team members.
- Manage our accounting daily activities and finance operations and develop plans for driving efficiency and automation.
- Lead or assist with systems design, integration, migration, enhancement, etc.
- Own the financial close process and all associated activity to deliver accurate and timely results.
- Lead and maintain accounting / internal controls to sustain financial security; assist in further defining department and company-wide accounting policies and procedures.
- Develop, implement and maintain the internal systems and financial controls consistent with Quince’s policies and regulatory guidelines, ensuring compliance with all tax and corporate requirements and filings.
- Understand and document reporting needs, collaborate on operational issues, develop creative solutions, and provide business guidance and insight through financial reporting.
- Prepare special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 8+ years accounting experience, ideally culminating in a Finance Controller position
- 3+ years experience from a Big 4 public accounting firm with strong technical background
- Strong managerial skillsDetail oriented and organised.
- Expertise in India GAAP Proven track record of building strong teams and leading / influencing others through highly cross-functional projects
- Experience with direct-to-consumer, retail, and international business models in a fast-paced and high-growth environment a plus
- Strong leadership aptitude; ability to mentor talent and foster career development.
- Strong knowledge of India GAAP is a must.
- Knowledge of US GAAP is preferred.
- Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure and tight deadlines
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Ability to present financial analysis as a story in an easy to understand manner to multiple types of audiences.
- Detail-oriented, organised and ability to multi-task and shift priorities quickly while maintaining control of deliverables.
- Agile; appreciation for the process but not led by the process.
- Entrepreneur; comfortable operating “at 5 feet and 5,000 feet”.
