We are looking for a finance contractor to join our finance team for the next 3 months! You’ll be the go-to for processing day-to-day financial transactions (expenses, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management cycles). You'll also get hands-on with month-end accounting tasks, reconciliations, and a few compliance-related projects, working alongside our awesome finance crew.
Please note: This is a 3-month short-term contractor position, paid hourly, with the possibility of an extension. Hours are flexible, but there is a requirement to have some PST daytime availability.
What You Will Do:
- Weekly bank reconciliations, associated journal entries and bank balance monitoring
- Record customer receipts, AR subledger reconciliations and maintenance of allowance for doubtful accounts
- Regular bill payments, AP subledger reconciliation and miscellaneous other AP tasks
- Final processing of employee expenses and sync of expense system to accounting system
- Specific departmental monthly reporting against budget and other monthly marketing reporting
- Maintain prepaid reporting including updating schedules, calculating monthly prepaid expenses and reconciliations
- Quarterly capital assets accounting including depreciation calculations
- Other routine or one-off tasks as requested by the Team Lead, Financial Reporting
What We Think Is True About You:
- 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience using a multi-ledger accounting system and other relevant softwares (ex. Sage Intacct, Nexonia, Salesforce)
- Some education in accounting or finance-related courses (CPA designation is an asset)
- Basic knowledge of the main accounting principles (ASPE)
- Ability to complete tasks with high accuracy by the deadline
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
