Finance Business Partner

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, Asia, Senior Finance Business Partner is responsible for the being the key partner to multiple SEEK Asia Executive Team members facilitating fulfilment of financial priorities for them. This includes participation in decision making and business case evaluation, financial planning and forecasting for the commercial functions and supporting performance management.

To be successful in this position you will need to be an energetic self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, building strong relationships across a large portfolio of stakeholders within both Finance and the broader business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support investment case preparation process and approval. Lead in financial evaluation of existing investment cases.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and partners to develop a clear understanding of the business value drivers to provide significant analysis and insights to support growth and strategic objectives
  • Prepare robust financial budgets and forecasts that support business planning processes and investment decisions, including the delivery of business proposal scenario modelling, ‘what-if’ analysis, viability information, risks and opportunities analysis
  • Deliver financial management reports, including the interpretation of financial results, forward view projections and variances to budgets and forecasts
  • Develop close and trusted working relationships with leaders across SEEK, while maintaining the ability to provide objective financial advice and challenge where required
  • Support external reporting – including the delivery of the bi-annual investor relations reporting
  • Partner with Finance Services to deliver strong financial controls and record financial results in-line with SEEK Group accounting policies and Australian Accounting Standards
  • Support the bi-annual audit process for the relevant business segment and liaise with external auditors where necessary
  • Drive a deep understanding of the company's financial landscape, business objectives, and industry trends to provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations.
  • Identify and implement changes aimed at delivering efficiency, improving financial controls, improving the accuracy of outputs or enhancing the ability to draw key insights
  • Build strong relationships with the Group FP&A, R2R and specialist COEs within Finance
  • Become a trusted and respected source of advice and insight to business partners

Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies

  • CA / CPA designation or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 year post-qualifying experience, preferably in a large complex organisation
  • Deep understanding of key accounting concepts, financial controls, standards and reporting
  • Strong business sense / willingness to learn about SEEK’s business commercially.
  • Flexible, proactive approach to achieving team and business goals
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills with the ability to provide insights into financial and business performance
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build robust working relationships within a dynamic team environment
  • Expertise at MS Excel, Power BI and other business / project management tools would be an added advantage.

  • Demonstrated capability for enhancing business processes and information systems to optimise the capture of information
  • Self-starter with the ability to think innovatively to find solutions for key partners
