The role:

Supporting the Temporary Insurance vertical, the role of the Financial Planning & Analysis team is to be an effective business partner to the commercial, marketing, product and technology teams working with them to understand the drivers of current performance, to forecast future performance as well as outlining key risks and opportunities.

Reporting to the Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team in Tempcover, you’ll be the go-to finance person for data and insight into financial and trading performance, and will business partner with stakeholders across all departments and product areas.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting of KPI’s and financial performance (P&L to EBITDA); taking stakeholder input through to Board presentations
  • Provide a collaborative partnership service to the business leaders to help them better manage their areas of responsibility for improved financial return and accountability. Offer timely and accurate financial analysis, guidance, support and feedback to assist with decision-making, future business development and resource planning.
  • Manage and develop finance resources in alignment with the mission and goals of the business so that the quality of financial support provided to the business is continually adding value.
  • Work across the business units to drive improved and consistent data and reporting, including via Netsuite & Power BI
  • Be a champion for financial best practice and education to non-financial stakeholders
  • Support the Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager and wider Finance function in ad hoc projects

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Qualified Accountant with experience working in a high performance environment
  • Expertise in explaining financial analysis to non-financial colleagues
  • Intellectually curious with an analytical mindset, as well as a genuine passion for partnering with the business
  • A passion for carrying out robust analysis, underpinning the data with a strong collaborative approach
  • Advanced Excel (or Gsheet) skills such as automation efficiency to process large quantities of data relevant to business tasks, creation of accurate and transparent reporting and spreadsheet modelling
  • Proficiency with Power BI and SQL an advantage but not essential
  • Proficiency with Netsuite an advantage but not essential
