CityFibre is hiring a

Finance Assistant

London, United Kingdom
Full-Time

This is a hybrid role where you’ll spend at least 2 days per week working from our London office.

Our goal at CityFibre is to unlock the digital potential of Britain by creating a broadband network that works seamlessly for everyone, every day. Powerful, gigabit-speed connections that enable people across entire communities to enjoy life in full flow. To do this, we make sure that our people’s voices are heard, their ideas are welcomed, and everyone is given the opportunity to make a real impact.

What you can expect from us

Everyone at CityFibre has an important part to play, and we reflect that in our benefits. With a competitive salary depending on experience, when you join us, you’ll also enjoy 25 days’ holiday, a day off on your birthday, a day off to support a charity or organisation of your choice, a performance-related bonus scheme, and private healthcare.

How you’ll change it up

You’ll join us as a Finance Assistant in the Management Accounting team, taking responsibility for supporting the monthly reporting on capital expenditure spend, as well providing quality and accurate financial information. Your role is critical to helping us ensure accurate record keeping of CityFibre’s fixed assets and is the perfect opportunity for a driven finance professional who has ambition to grow their career in a supportive and experienced team. Day to day, this is what you can expect to be doing:

  • Delivering the fixed asset month end processes in line with the timetable, including reviewing balance sheets, preparing, and posting journals, and presenting results to the wider finance team
  • Producing monthly CAPEX spend variance analysis – liaising with commercial finance to understand variance vs budget
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers and results, ensuring accurate additions, disposals and depreciation posted into monthly accounts
  • Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reviewing all CAPEX invoices to ensure correct coding within the accounts, identifying and correcting any errors

What you’ll bring to the role

You’ll already have some experience working in a finance function, as well as strong Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, sumifs etc.). You’ll also bring the following:

  • Excellent attention to detail, especially in Excel
  • Strong time management skills
  • Basic understanding of debits and credits

We’re looking for people who don’t settle for ‘good enough’ and push things forward. If you’ve just found yourself thinking, ‘I’d love to do this’, we want to hear from you. Let’s change it up.
