Are you ready to help us design and build our LaserWeeder that solve real problems in our food supply?

As a Field Trials Specialist at Carbon Robotics you’ll  assess the performance and operational effectiveness of the LaserWeeder. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, data analysis, and feasibility studies to evaluate the overall benefits and potential improvements of the LaserWeeder. 

This role involves designing and executing field trials, collecting and interpreting data, and providing detailed reports on findings. The Field Trials Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams, particularly the sales team, to deliver precise and actionable data that supports sales efforts in engaging with current and prospective customers.

What you’ll do:

Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Collect and compile comprehensive data on the LaserWeeder and its associated features, with a focus on its impact on agricultural practices and cost analysis.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, strengths, weaknesses, and areas of potential improvement.

Cost-Benefit Analysis:

  • Assess the economic and operational benefits, including labor savings, yield improvement, and reduced chemical usage, to determine the overall cost-effectiveness.

Report Generation:

  • Prepare clear and comprehensive reports and presentations that summarize findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
  • Communicate complex technical information in an easily understandable manner for stakeholders.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineers, agronomists, and universities, to gather insights and data necessary for analysis.

Recommendations:

  • Offer actionable recommendations and insights to help farmers make well-informed choices about implementing the LaserWeeder.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data, calculations, and analysis methods.

Market Research:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and the competitive landscape for laser weeding technology and similar farming equipment.
  • Evaluate the market demand and potential return on investment for adopting laser weeding machinery.

Financial Modeling:

  • Develop financial models to simulate various scenarios and assess the potential outcomes of adopting laser weeding technology.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Plant Sciences, Agricultural Science, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Familiarity with farm machinery, agricultural technology, and precision agriculture.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, statistical software).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of agricultural economics and cost-benefit analysis principles is a plus.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in agricultural machinery analysis or a related field is advantageous.
  • Experience in conducting cost-effectiveness studies and financial modeling is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • This position will involve a lot of travel to farms to conduct on-site assessments. Travel should be considered as much as 90% of the time.

Carbon Robotics follows equitable hiring practices. Flexibility in our hiring process allows hiring of talent at levels different from what are posted.  The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Offers are determined using our equitable hiring practices. Carbon Robotics offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, pre-IPO stock options and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year. We are committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for similar work.
Carbon Robotics' base salary pay range:
$62,000$85,000 USD
