Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions is a leading supplier of security screening technologies, including X-ray, Millimetre Wave Body Scanning, and IMS (Ion Mobility Spectrometry) Explosive Trace Detection, to various industries in the Asia Pacific Region and worldwide.

In conjunction with Hobart Airport's new terminal build, we seek a Field Service Engineer to support the install, commissioning, ongoing maintenance and repair of security screening technology.

This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and can hold and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).

Being our first Hobart-based employee, this positions responsibility include:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance, upgrades and repairs at customer sites
  • Manage the customer relationship in Hobart and provide support both in person and via the phone
  • Address customer issues and take them to full resolution
  • Complete service, expense and weekly time reports
  • Contribute to the team's focus on improving service delivery performance
  • Attending ongoing training to up-skill and enhance product knowledge

We currently have a team member working in Launceston. We want to develop a shared on-call roster.

Though experience servicing X-ray or other security screening technology would be desirable, candidates considered will have:

  • Experience servicing electronic and mechanical equipment
  • Good understanding of Computers and Windows Operating Systems (automation experience and/or Linux OS would be desirable)
  • A current driver's licence and the ability to work flexible hours to support the project. At times, this role will be on-call. Therefore, the successful applicant may have to travel to a site at short notice
  • Customer-focused skills where clear communication is key

This position will establish our presence in Hobart, where the successful candidate will contribute to a successful beginning in the region. This highly experienced team will provide continual training and support along their journey.
