Overview of Opportunity 

Two Six Technologies is looking for a Field Operations Engineer experienced in Linux systems administration. The role involves managing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based architectures to support a software development contract with over 100 developers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining operating systems, providing application support, integration, design, and assisting with additional duties as needed to support the team at various CONUS and OCONUS work sites. If you have experience building, documenting, and providing tier-3 engineering support, the team would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide daily operational support for Linux operating systems (RedHat, CentOS, and Ubuntu) and applications.
  • Maintain the integrity and security of systems by monitoring security feeds and dashboards in support of Continuous Monitoring activities.
  • Monitor application and operating system performance; analyze, document, and remediate incidents.
  • Help develop and maintain standards and procedures for applications across a complex computing infrastructure.
  • Leverage scripting and system automation tools.
  • Interact with developers and evaluate vendor products to assist their needs.
  • Review incidents to understand the root causes and ensure the implementation of proper fixes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active US Security clearance of Top Secret level and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI and poly 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience configuring, designing, administrating, and maintaining Linux (Redhat and/or Centos)  servers or workstations
  • Experience with virtualization environments such as VMWare ESXi, and vCenter server 
  • Demonstrated experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible and/or Puppet 
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with standard development tools including Git, Gitlab, and/or Github, Atlassian Jira, and Confluence
  • Understanding of modern software languages and command line interface
  • Command of scripting languages such as Python and Bash
  • Must be willing to travel to CONUS & OCONUS work sites 50% of the time

Nice if you Have:

  • Linux System Administrator Certification
  • Certifications relating to IT Security (CISSP, GIAC, Security+) 
  • Host clustering experience with High Availability, Distributed Resource Scheduler, and replication
  • Knowledge of network engineering fundamentals and network design
  • Experience with building and maintaining environments running in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Active Top Secret security Clearance or higher to TS/SCI and poly 

Clearance Requirement:

Active US Security clearance of Top Secret level and ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI and poly
