Position Summary:
This position provides solution-oriented consultative training, technical support and troubleshooting at customer sites, and remotely, on bioMérieux’s diagnostic product lines. Effectively work with customers to achieve efficient implementation and go live of new instrumentation. Retain business, collaborate with stakeholders.
This is a field based position supporting the New York State and Vermont territory supporting Clinical Microbiology. The ideal candidate will reside or be willing to relocate to the Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo, or major city within the area or close proximity within the territory. Extensive field travel is required - average 75%, including overnight stays - average of 40-50% based on business needs.
Primary Duties:
- Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of bioMérieux’s Quality System.
- Coordinate and provide technical training, consultation, and ongoing support of bioMérieux’s diagnostic product lines within the U.S. customer base.
- Develop, cultivate, and maintain strong professional relationships with all customers.
- Answer internal and external customer inquiries and ensure regulatory compliance through timely and accurate documentation in bioMérieux’s CRM system; consulting as appropriate with Sales Partners, Application Specialists, Field/System Engineers, IT Resources, Management teams, and Local/Global Support Teams.
- Provide consistent follow up to ensure customer satisfaction and meet minimum key performance indicators.
- Responsible for efficient territory management within operating expense budget.
- Support bioMérieux revenue initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned, and/or as business needs dictate.
Education, Skills, & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, technical, or life science field
- Degree in Microbiology, Clinical Microbiology, or Biology highly preferred

1+ years clinical laboratory experience or equivalent.
- 3+ years of Clinical Microbiology experience highly preferred
- ASCP, MLT, or New York State Lab certifications preferred
- bioMérieux product experience highly preferred (Vitek, Virtuo. Myla)
- Laboratory Information System, or Connectivity/Networking experience a plus.
- Experience with guidelines with CLIA regulations and/or additional laboratory credentialing agencies preferred.
- Experience with related technical field applications support strongly preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the like
- Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day. Ability to operate heavy machinery
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
The estimated salary range for this role based in the New York state area is between $78,000 and $89,000 annually. This role is eligible to receive an annual bonus based on individual performance per bioMerieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
