Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
    • Provide end-to-end support for IoT devices, including hardware diagnostics, firmware updates, and cloud connectivity troubleshooting.
    • Resolve complex issues related to hardware, mobile applications, and cloud platforms, ensuring minimal downtime.
  2. Installation & Deployment:
    • Oversee the installation, configuration, and calibration of IoT hardware and software in diverse environments.
    • Work closely with customers to ensure smooth deployments of mobile and cloud-integrated systems.
  3. System Monitoring & Maintenance:
    • Monitor system performance using analytics dashboards to identify and address potential problems proactively.
    • Manage firmware and software updates, ensuring compatibility and performance optimization.
  4. Customer Training & Documentation:
    • Deliver training sessions and create user manuals to help customers operate and maintain IoT products.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and update FAQs, technical documentation, and best practices.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with engineering teams to escalate and resolve complex issues and gather feedback for continuous product improvement.
    • Partner with sales, product management, engineering to provide insights on customer experiences and suggest enhancements to hardware and software features.

Skills and Qualifications

  1. Technical Expertise:
    • Strong understanding of IoT ecosystems, including hardware components, embedded firmware, mobile apps, and cloud architecture.
    • Hands-on experience with debugging tools, connectivity protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRa), and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).
  2. Problem-Solving Abilities:
    • Proven track record in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues under time constraints.
  3. Communication Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
    • Customer-focused approach with the ability to manage expectations effectively.
  4. Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, EE, or Mechatronics/Robotics
    • 2-5 years of experience in a service engineering, field engineering, or technical support role within the IoT industry.
  5. Other Qualifications:
    • Familiarity with scripting or programming languages like Python, JavaScript, or C++.
    • Ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced environments and travel as needed.
    • Ability to stand and sit for long periods, lift up to 20 to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions with fingers, hands, and arms. 
    • Prior use of Atlassian products, such as JIRA and Confluence, with understanding on how to create and organize JIRA projects and tickets.
    • Requires proximity to a major, well-connected airport hub for efficient travel and logistical convenience.

 

The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $160,000, plus bonuses and Pre-IPO equity. It is uncommon for anyone to be hired at or near the top range for their role, and final compensation is based on the facts and circumstances of the case. The compensation range is broad because it reflects many factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, and training directly relevant to the role, business and company needs, cultural fit, level, and location.
