POSITION OVERVIEW
The Festival Operations Manager is responsible for the execution and coordination of festival operations functions, including event staff, supplier, and venue management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, with a strong enthusiasm for collaboration across functional teams and multiple work streams. The Festival Operations Manager provides key support to our festival and owned & operated products, commercial opportunities, and esports services projects within the DreamHack festivals. The Festival Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of the festival operational life cycle (budget management, pre-production and planning, live event execution, stakeholder management, etc.). Together with our team, you will strive to create legendary esports moments and gaming interactions for our players, clients, and guests as part of the DreamHack festival experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage festival operations deliverables, working internally with relevant stakeholders to ensure project deliverables and milestones are executed in an efficient and timely manner, including but not limited to: internal and external communication, festival operations budgeting requests, ordering, and reconciliation, site visits and warehouse management, venue management, supplier sourcing and management, registration and accreditation, health and safety, travel and accommodations, commercial and project opportunities and activations, and festival staffing.
- Oversee festival operations functions and serve as the point-of-contact and liaison during the planning and execution of the festivals; manage the festival operations through the execution of the DreamHack Command Center and its functions as the central hub of communication and services for internal and external stakeholders and guests.
- Act as liaison between the travel department, hotel, and the festival; support the travel and accommodation process and arrangements for internal and external stakeholders, staff, clients, talent, and players associated with the festival.
- Oversee the staffing, training, hiring and onboarding of the crew population; manage and train key operational supervisors and lead staff and contractor roles to plan and execute the festival.
- Manage the preparation and maintenance of documents such as meeting notes, supplier management database, festival and venue services request forms, task and milestone trackers, operational sprint process boards, staff and hospitality lists, financial tracking reports, event know-before-you-go guides and schedules, event training modules and standard operating procedures, incident management reports, and post-mortem reports plus additional tools shared internally.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, venues, cross-functional teams, and all other key internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Must be able to use strong project management, organizational and time management skills together with critical thinking to complete work with accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
- Must be able to approach projects with solutions-forward initiative and a team player mentality to work independently and as a part of a collaborative team; as such must be able to delegate and scale approaches to manage multiple, concurrent projects in a deadline-driven, fast-paced event environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective leadership skills to supervise, facilitate, motivate and inspire a highly diverse group of employees, crew members, and community members across multiple regions; must communicate accurately and clearly as EFG is a global company and oftentimes communication is across various regions and cultures.
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Monday.com, Adobe, Microsoft Office, and Google Suites.
- Must retain an understanding of esports and gaming titles, league structures, and game formats; must be able to familiarize themselves and hold a holistic understanding with different gaming communities and the general gaming industry.
- Must have a deep understanding of event management principles for large events, festivals and trade shows; esports broadcast production and gaming general knowledge is a plus.
- Able to act with good judgment in challenging situations, resolve and de-escalate conflict, and handle confidential information with sensitivity.
- Perform work with patience, discretion, good judgment, courtesy and tact while working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures, including colleagues, clients, vendors, partners, contractors, other stakeholders, and the community-at-large; able to resolve and de-escalate conflict, and practice discretion when handling confidential information and sensitive situations.
Salary: $ 75,400 - $80,600
