We are a global and multilingual fact-checking organization in our reach and location, with teams in India and across Europe. Logically Facts is part of Meta’s Third Party Fact-Checking Program (3PFC) and works with TikTok in Europe. We have been a verified signatory of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) since 2020 and are a member of the Misinformation Combat Alliance (MCA) in India.

The role:
This is a remote role but you must be a native Maltese speaker.
Our fact-checkers research and write original, high-quality fact checks to strict editorial standards and tight deadlines for a mix of audiences, from the readers of our website to private and public sector clients. We also work closely with major social media companies to moderate misinformative content on their platforms.
As Logically Facts’ Maltese-based Fact-checker, you will directly contribute to our mission to understand and combat mis and disinformation. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide range of fact-checking and editorial initiatives and to the development of our fact-checking technology and products.
Primary Responsibilities
Discover misleading claims with the use of different platforms and techniques. Write original, high-quality fact-check reports to strict editorial standards and tight deadlines.
Write news reports and long-form articles related to the subject of mis/disinformation
Work on content moderation and fact-checking projects with social media platforms.
Essential Skills and Experience
You are a native Maltese speaker with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
You have a strong understanding of the political and media landscape in Malta and Europe.
Professional newsroom, fact-checking, or other editorial experience of at least 0-3 years.
You can research and write original, high-quality fact-checks to strict editorial standards and tight deadlines.
You can discover and flag misleading claims using different platforms and techniques.
You can proactively pitch ideas around misleading claims that can be fact-checked. You have strong analytical skills and can remain impartial and critical while writing on complex and sensitive topics.
You have the ability to grasp new and complicated information quickly.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Familiarity with fact-checking skills and techniques and/or Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques
You are familiar with international fact-checking guidelines and codes like IFCN, EFCSN etc., and are up to date with the best practices.
An understanding of the political and media landscape in Europe.
You are familiar with fact-checking skills and Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques.
