Facility Operations Manager

 

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Facility Operations Manager for our Baytown, TX team. As the Facility Operations Manager you will play a pivotal role in leading operational activities to ensure compliance with company and client policies and safety regulations.

You’ll directly manage and coordinate dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles as well as technical and industrial field services, waste operations, and facility maintenance.

In addition, you’ll be responsible for evaluating equipment purchases, managing budgetary expenses, and maintaining customer relations. Your strong organizational skills and attention to detail will be essential in tracking expenses, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate documentation for shipping and manifesting.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in applicable fields such as management, Environmental Science or a related field and 5+ years of managerial experience. Strong knowledge of regulations such as OSHA, DOT, EPA, and TCEQ are required for success.

This position reports to the Regional General Manager. This role is onsite in primarily a warehouse and office environment and is based in Baytown, TX.

 

Essential responsibilities:

  • Manage the business function according to budget – including management of expenses, labor utilization, equipment expenses and other overhead costs.
  • Solve complex business problems and the ability to navigate challenges efficiently.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members
  • Ensures communication between Technical Services, Industrial Field Services, Faicility Dock & Waste Operations, Customer Service and Sales personnel.
  • Lead required monthly staff meetings to keep employees motivated and informed of business operations.
  • Monitor operation activities to ensure compliance with company and client policies and procedures, safety rules, and other requirements.
  • Direct and coordinate, through subordinates, activities related to dispatching, routing, transportation of vehicles, technical/industrial field services, waste operations, facilities, and human resources
  • Direct and coordinate, through subordinates, site specific facility inspections, maintenance, and repair to ensure facility remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
  • Evaluate the business operations and makes recommendations such as proposing changes to service provision, equipment, or facilities to the Regional General Manager when appropriate.
  • Evaluate vehicles or equipment for purchase by considering factors such as fitness for purpose, increased operational ability or efficiency and fuel economy
  • Maintain, manage, and monitor all customer related operational issues.
  • Monitor the process of manifests, labels, and other shipping documents and placards for all customers to ensure they are accurate.
  • Ensure communication of all required report information is provided to the appropriate departments.
  • Other duties assigned by the Regional General Manager.

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in managerial experience
  • 3-5+ years of experience in environmental, remediation, or fleet management is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities for clear direction and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams.
  • Experience working OSHA, DOT, EPA, and TCEQ regulations.
  • Supply management and inventory control experience.
  • Tracking and reporting budgetary expenses.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with logistics for scheduling routes for new sales and getting customers serviced in a timely manner.
  • Strong business acumen skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • This is a Safety Sensitive Position
  • Successful completion of a physical examination and drug screening is required prior to employment.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field such as Management, Environmental, or relevant programs. Experience and work history are considered.
