To advance space exploration, we work with space agencies and private companies and provide them bio-farming units to grow efficiently food for astronaut and/or conduct research on impact of microgravity on plant molecular composition.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Interstellar Lab is searching for a qualified facility manager to work alongside security and maintenance staff to ensure our buildings and grounds are clean and safe. The facility manager oversees all aspects of building functions and guarantees the safety and functionality of all facilities. Duties include running routine safety inspections, corresponding with contractors, planning maintenance work, maintaining records. Our ideal candidate is well-versed in facilities management processes and exhibits high multitasking and organizational abilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper security, safety and cleanliness standards and procedures.
- Ensure the safety and health of occupants at all time and in all areas by complying with industry norms and standards.
- Maintain technical equipment, personal protective equipment and building provisions to meet health, security and safety requirements.
- Maintain safety markings, labeling and sign along with facilities development.
- Organize and maintain access rules, control and badging in all facilities.
- Organize, plan and supervise building installments, refurbishments and interventions from subcontractors and service providers.
- Handle insurance and maintenance contracts and documentation.
- Run routine maintenance inspections.
- Monitor interior and exterior areas of building for cleanliness and general conservation.
- Ensure waste management and compliance with environmental rules.
- Prepare and implement project budgets and timeframes.
- Implement action plans to optimize costs and energy performance.
- Support maintenance and installment work as needed.
PROFILE
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electricity, plumbing and other building systems.
- Knowledge of industrial norms and standards.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Experience planning and maintaining facility budgets.
- Contract handling experience.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and do other labor-intensive tasks.
- Fluency in French and English is required.
