The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, project estimation (including drywall and concrete), parts management, vendor negotiation, and workforce scheduling. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for facilities projects involving framing, drywall, concrete, electrical, and other materials.
- Collaborate with the facilities manager to develop project budgets and timelines.
- Order and manage the delivery of necessary materials and equipment.
- Identify and evaluate potential vendors and contractors for various facility projects, including overseeing some of their work.
- Source materials and negotiate contracts and agreements to secure the best value for materials and services.
- Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure urgent completion of tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, project progress, and expenses.
- Prepare and present reports on facility operations, project status, and budget performance
- Ensure all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security, are functioning properly and efficiently
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify and address ongoing maintenance needs

- Familiarity with construction projects, scoping, materials, and trades

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
