Expert Translator - English to Tagalog (For Pooling)

You will be responsible for the correct localisation of video game content and other associated text into from English into Tagalog Filipino. You will work following product specific guidelines to ensure the maximum linguist quality and adherence to all relevant conventions. You will be working as part of a team to produce high quality translations, either translating yourself or reviewing.

As a member of the Translation Team you will report into the Project Management team and must work closely with internal and external translators. As a Translator you have no direct reports.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• Create or assist in creating glossaries and style guides following pre-defined guidelines from the client.
• Create or assist in creating style guide documents
• Carry out translation work following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology.
• Carry out revision work following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology.
• Accomplished all work meeting the outlined deadlines and industry standard productivity figures.
• Provide linguistic feedback for work carried out externally.
• Work as part of a large team of translators or revisers.

Requirements

1. Experience in the translation industry (video games specific or entertainment media experience is a plus) or proven use of language skills in a professional environment.
2. Excellent knowledge of business software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office)
3. Knowledge of CAT tools (memoQ is a plus)
4. Experience working with TMS software (Plunet/XTRF) preferred but not required
5. Clear and effective English communication skills (verbal and written)
6. Demonstrates proactivity
7. Good organisation and problem-solving skills
8. Keeps a “can do” attitude and positive thinking
