What is Expert Data Privacy?
Expert Data Protection advises on privacy-related matters and assists the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in issues related to privacy and regulatory compliance. This role reports directly to the Data Protection Officer and is part of the Legal team.
What does Expert Data Privacy do?
- Establish and maintain privacy-related documentation, including Data Privacy Impact Analyses, developing and updating notices for employees and customers, threat assessments related to privacy, and maintaining a risk register regarding processing activities.
- Perform regular Privacy Risk Assessments in accordance with Group guidelines and formats.
- Provide solutions to complex privacy scenarios while ensuring compliance with privacy laws, regulations, and the Group framework.
- Stay updated with reforms and developments in privacy-related regulations and laws, both locally and internationally, and ensure compliance with such developments by adopting international best practices in data privacy management.
- Address customer grievances received via email and assess if such grievances require investigation.
- Assist the DPO in running a privacy compliance program.
- Draft, review, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements and privacy provisions in contracts.
- Analyze propositions and provide practical solutions.
- Independently deal with government and regulatory bodies.
- Review and advise on laws, regulations, and governmental policies related to privacy.
- Identify and help mitigate all privacy risks concerning the company.
- Establish a solid privacy strategy to achieve the objective of becoming the preferred partner of customers from a privacy perspective.
- Collaborate with Information Security, Compliance, Revenue Assurance, CRA, and other relevant teams, as well as stakeholders, to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs, including policies, practices, and investigations.
- Identify Data Controllers in various departments handling personal information and train them to develop a good understanding and implement privacy practices in their respective domains.
- Conduct data / process mapping to identify data / process flows and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
Key Deliverables:
- Conduct a yearly review of previous contracts in relation to data privacy.
- Prepare and review responses for courts and other regulatory agencies.
- Conduct company-wide awareness sessions with various stakeholders and targeted sessions with teams that process personal information.
- Assist investigators in performing suspected privacy incident investigations.
- Assist the DPO in negotiating, assessing, and reviewing Data Protection Agreements to ensure that responsibility is placed on data processors (vendors) to keep data secure and process information legitimately.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree with experience in data privacy; IAPP certification is preferred.
- Previous experience in the telecom or technology industry is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of leading Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks.
