About the Job 

Blackbird is looking for an Experiential Marketing Manager who will be responsible for supporting all Blackbird experiential programs and partnerships, from in restaurant events to pop-up activations to market launches and more. You will work closely with the Head of Marketing to drive our overall marketing strategy and long term growth of our business and key products.

We’re looking for a creative thinker who is culturally plugged in and possesses a blend of organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate is someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves, get their hands dirty and make a lasting impact on the business. The candidate will play a pivotal role in executing strategic marketing initiatives and partnerships to help drive brand awareness and scale the Blackbird brand. A successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial “can do” spirit and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities 
  • Work with the Head of Marketing to develop and implement a comprehensive experiential marketing strategy that aligns with the interests of our key audiences, business objectives, and product roadmap
  • Create opportunities to grow brand awareness, and build/strengthen credibility and emotional connections among our users that helps drive PR, acquisition and retention
  • Own experiential projects end-to-end, inclusive of strategic planning, project management and execution (e.g., guest experience, event layout, agency and vendor management, décor and scenic, asset creation, catering, permitting and logistics, contract negotiations); production schedules and timelines; budget ownership; and post event ROI reporting
  • Liaise​ ​+​ ​manage ​relationships​ ​with​ ​restaurant​ ​partners​ ​+​ ​chefs​ ​that​ ​are​ ​involved​ ​in​ ​Blackbird’s experiential programming
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Design, Product and Go-to-Market, to ensure alignment in event strategy, goals, and messaging
  • Regularly write, edit and review copy and assets ​for​ ​a​ ​variety​ ​of​ ​digital​ ​and​ ​print​ ​items​ ​(invites,​ ​flyers,​ ​collateral,​ ​swag etc)​ ​that​ ​clearly​ ​communicates​ Blackbird’s brand
  • Identify, negotiate with, and manage relationships with best-in-class experiential partners (vendors, suppliers, and service providers) to ensure flawless execution and the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services for experiential activations
  • Develop event​ ​reports, presentations and recaps to communicate plans as well as results and insights to stakeholders (while​ ​continuously​ ​analyzing​ ​+​ ​measuring​ ​goals​ ​+ KPI's​)  ​
  • Provide onsite, hands-on assistance for all events, programs, as needed; serve as the day to day contact for all teams
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in experiential marketing or event production for a major lifestyle consumer brand, with a strong understanding of operations and logistics
  • Proven track record of creating and executing innovative brand experiences and strategic activations for a wide variety of audiences
  • A genuine passion and deep understanding of the restaurant industry; with some hands on experience working in or with restaurants
  • Creative mindset with the ability to think strategically, adapt to changing circumstances, innovate and problem solve
  • High attention to detail with demonstrated ability to care for multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Able to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules
  • Based in NYC

 

Pay Transparency Notice & Benefits

Depending on your work location and experience the target annual salary for this position can range from $120,000 - $150,000 USD. Disclosure in accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law.

Full time offers from Blackbird may also include stock options, benefits (including medical, dental, vision, flexible time off, 401(k)), and some not-so-standard, extra-fun perks — subject to applicable taxes and based on eligibility.
