Role Overview
Lindblad Expeditions is seeking experienced sales candidates to join our Expedition Specialist - Outbound (ESO) sales team. In this role, you'll work with a high-performing team generating revenue by closing expedition sales from new leads through proactive outbound sales activities.
'Expedition Specialists - Outbound' (ESOs) are responsible for selling Lindblad expeditions, extensions, and services to customers via outbound email, phone, and video conference sales activities. The ESO will utilize multi-source leads to generate sales and develop long-term relationships with customers through timely outreach, expert guidance, and personalized customer service.
Successful ESOs have in-depth knowledge of our reservation system, our products, policies, and procedures. They are self-motivated individuals with a record of successful sales, excellent communication and customer service skills, and an ability to multi-task and prioritize objectives in a fast-paced environment while presenting a positive, sales-focused, and team-oriented mindset.

Role Responsibilities
- Identify sales opportunities, close sales, and provide customer service via outbound phone, email, and video conference contacts
- Utilize Salesforce CRM to track and follow up on leads from multiple sources
- Manage a high-volume, sales-focused workload, meet sales and productivity goals, and optimize the customer relationship through proactive customer contact
- Maintain and continually develop Lindblad Expeditions product knowledge to confidently and effectively provide clients with information about our ships, destinations, itineraries, policies, and travel requirements to drive and convert sales
- Upsell add-ons such as flights, extensions, hotels, and travel protection policies through the life of the customer relationship
- Deliver superior customer service by establishing long-term, 1-1 customer relationships and identifying and meeting customer needs
- Make recommendations for process, procedure, and technological improvements
- Provide product knowledge and consultation as well as exceptional guest service to all clients including voyage changes, payment needs, and other services related to reservations
- Maintain and update customer records in Salesforce CRM
- Assure utmost accuracy of all details and information required to complete a reservation
- Collaborate with teammates and internal partners to assist in converting sales
- Meet or exceed established Lindblad Expeditions sales and service standards
- Assist with other reservation-related assignments and sales projects as determined by your manager
MINIMUM Qualifications
- 2+ years of inside or outside sales experience with a proven track record of success
- Proficiency in the Windows operating system, including both word-processing and spreadsheet applications
- The ability to be proactive and work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Strong organization, time management, and multitasking skills
- Experience setting priorities in order to meet tight deadlines and ensure customers receive outstanding, timely service
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent industry experience
PREFERRED Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in a contact center role
- Experience using Salesforce’s opportunity lead tracking and reporting functionality
- Travel industry experience and/or personal travel experience to Lindblad Expeditions’ core destinations of Antarctica, Alaska, and the Galapagos Islands.
- College degree or equivalent industry experience

COMPENSATION STATEMENT
Lindblad Expeditions determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
