As an Executive Technical Director at Instrument, you are a visionary leader, instrumental in shaping the future of our organization; driving innovation and ensuring that your discipline and delivery team is aligned with our strategic goals. You constantly seek to elevate the value of your discipline, internally and externally. 

What You'll Do

  • Lead the planning and execution of technical development and deployment of digital solutions for Instrument clients in either client-hosted or third-party environments.
  • Properly scope, assign and resource your engineering team to best support the work assigned to your vertical. Align their assignments with their own growth opportunities and skill sets.
  • Become an indispensable part of our clients' strategic planning, providing a strong technical point of view within the broader team.
  • Consult with your vertical leadership during critical business planning moments, advising on technology and process decisions for new and existing business.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, driving new ideas and development concepts over time with direct client contacts for new and evolving business.
  • Understand client technical and security constraints, collaborating with client Information, Security, and Technical teams.
  • Propel the discipline forward by identifying and nurturing new client relationships and opportunities for growth.
  • Drive the expansion of client accounts by introducing new services and solutions aligned with client needs and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for acquiring new clients and expanding existing relationships.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of market trends and competitor activities to position the agency effectively in the marketplace.
  • Lead the engineering team in tackling complex business requirements with optimal technical solutions, within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Research emerging technology trends and translate them into innovative solutions for client projects.
  • Plan and suggest plans for the service and maintenance of systems on an ongoing basis, including testing and applying security updates and monitoring system health to minimize downtime.
  • Provide direction, support, and feedback for the larger team through regular team meetings, mentoring, and sharing general information.
  • Motivate and engage the larger team to produce the best possible product and result in alignment with the agency's culture.
  • Understand and manage the budget and staffing implications of the work, delivery timelines, and final execution. Constantly strive for excellence in our technical delivery. Help identify and resource developers and third-party resources for each project, ensuring proper delegation of tasks and prioritization.
  • Maximize time and output by thinking creatively and working smarter, not just harder.

Pay Range

  • The expected pay range for this position is $185,000-$210,000 for our base US Region 3*. We have three regional pay ranges that are adjusted for cost of living (US1 +15%, US2 +7.5%, US3 Base), *learn more about our pay philosophy and cost of living adjustments.
