Job Purpose:
Assist in strategically leading compensation, benefits, compliance, and employee relations, to ensure a positive and productive work environment that aligns with the organization's goals.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Compensation Management:
- Assisting in designing, implementing, and managing compensation structures and programs that align with organizational goals and local market trends.
- Assisting in conducting salary surveys and analyses to ensure competitive pay rates in the market.
- Developing and administering performance-based pay systems, bonuses, and incentives.
- Handling salary negotiations and ensuring equitable compensation across Orfium SL.
Benefits Administration:
- Managing employee benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits for Orfium SL.
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements related to benefits (Minimum wage, Gratuity, EPF, ETF, & etc).
- Communicating benefits information to employees and assisting them with benefit-related inquiries.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all SL employment laws and regulations.
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor laws, wage laws, equal employment opportunity (EEO) policies, etc in SL.
- Conducting audits and assessments to identify compliance risks and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Keeping abreast of changes in employment laws and regulations and updating policies and practices accordingly.
Policy Development and Implementation:
- Developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures related to Compensation & Compliance
- Ensuring consistency and fairness in policy application across the organization.
- Communicating policies to employees and managers and providing guidance on policy interpretation.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyzing compensation and benefits data to support decision-making and strategy development.
- Generating reports and metrics related to compensation, benefits, and compliance for management and regulatory purposes.
- Providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve compensation practices and compliance efforts.
Employee Communication and Education:
- Educating employees and managers on compensation programs, benefits, and compliance-related matters.
- Conducting training sessions on topics related to company policies
- Drafting and issuing employment-related documents/letters (LOO, LOA, service letters, & etc.) ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.
Conflict Resolution and Employee Relations:
- Handling all employee disciplinary matters such as misconducts and taking actions
- Collaborating with other HR functions and management to resolve conflicts and issues related to compensation & compliance practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field
- At least 1 year of progressive experience on compensation and benefits
- Prior experience in salary benchmarking would be an added advantage
- In-depth knowledge of Sri Lankan labor laws and regulations
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
- Good communication skills in English language (Verbal / Written)
- Good Computer Literacy (MS Office/ Google Sheets)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members
- Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis
- Ability to handle complex situations and resolve conflicts effectively
