Executive Compensation Consultant (Senior Lead / Principal)

As an Executive Compensation Consultant you will be responsible for evolving and shaping our global equity/stock and executive compensation strategy and programs. Partnering closely with key stakeholders, including the C-Suite, you will provide market insights, align philosophies and strengthen executive compensation, and design equity programs to scale as the organization grows. You will partner closely with senior leaders in Finance, Legal, and the People and Culture teams to ensure all program components are equitable, scalable and competitive.

StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in Canada or the USA for this position.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Leading the design, implementation, and management of comprehensive global equity programs and executive compensation structures (including cash compensation, short- and long-term incentive plans). 
  • Developing strategies and frameworks for global equity and executive compensation to align with our company's mission, vision, and objectives.
  • Using Excel and/or Google to prepare detailed financial models and analyses to support executive and equity compensation decisions.
  • Consulting and developing materials to present to the executive team and board members on equity and compensation strategy program builds ensuring that packages are market-competitive.
  • Supported the Legal and Equity Admin team with administration and governance of global equity plans and managing executive compensation programs.
  • Complying with all regulations and maintaining updated knowledge of relevant laws and industry best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Progressive experience in the design and administration of global equity and executive compensation programs and processes (completion or progress towards a CCP or CECP designation is a plus!)
  • 10+ years of progressive experience working in a global compensation function. Huge bonus if you’ve worked in both private and publicly traded organizations.
  • A strong understanding of executive and equity compensation best practices, current trends, and market benchmark data approaches; International compensation experience is significantly preferred.
  • You will be responsible for researching and analyzing new compensation policies and programs which will help shape the future of our company's compensation strategies and ensure our programs are in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of common equity vehicles, tax and legal requirements, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent financial modeling skills and proficiency in valuation methodologies.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to think proactively, critically, and independently to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • Experience with building from the ground up: you approach projects with ownership and entrepreneurial spirit.  You have seen what it takes to build and evolve into best practices on design and structure.
