Rights and Resources Group – Executive and Board Assistant 

The Executive and Board Assistant provides administrative support to the Rights and Resources Group (RRG) President and the RRG Board of Directors. 

This is a full-time position that is classified as non-exempt under the US Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is eligible to compensation for overtime. This position is based in Washington, DC with the option to telework two days per week (Mondays and Fridays) and live in the DC metro area prior to the start date

Applications will be accepted immediately and interviews conducted on a rolling basis. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the USA.  

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Administrative Support to the President (60%) 

  • Provide confidential wide-ranging hands-on executive support on priority tasks to the President. 
  • Coordinate meetings and manage a complex calendar and the demand for the President’s time.  
  • Assist the President in drafting, editing, and formatting correspondence.  
  • Take notes and minutes during meetings and contribute to the generating of reports or briefs. 
  • Translate short documents and/or provide interpretation during meetings.  
  • Assist President in preparing timesheets, expense reports and credit card statement accountings. 
  • Manage and provide logistical, travel, administrative and research support to meetings and events attended by the President held domestically and/or internationally.  

2. Board of Directors Management (30%) 

  • Provide confidential support to the Board of Directors.  
  • Engage directly with Board members to prepare them for Board and committee meetings by providing context to agenda items and documents under review. 
  • Prepare, organize, and archive documents for Board and committee meetings. With relevant language support, maintain these records in English, Spanish, and French.  
  • Provide logistics support to Board members, including organizing two to three hybrid Board meetings a year and support Board member participation in RRI coalition and other relevant events. 

3. Senior Programs and Organizational Support (10%) 

  • Organize and archive other institutional records, documents, and processes. 
  • Support major RRI events and meetings. 
  • Other tasks as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or relevant subject preferred. 
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in providing support to senior management, which may include scheduling, providing event organizing support, managing international travel arrangements, correspondence and communications. 
  • Fluency in English, with additional French and/or Spanish proficiency required. 
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and oral communications skills required. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required – Word, PowerPoint and Excel. 
  • Strong sense of teamwork, and ability to build relationships, and interact collaboratively, respectfully and diplomatically with a diverse group of colleagues and coalition partners. 
  • Fastidious organization skills and ability to accept shifting priorities. 
  • Flexibility in embracing a range of duties as the organization’s needs evolve. 

Salary range: $51,000 - $64,000
