What you’ll be doing - Te whakamahere
As Events Manager you will be responsible for creating world-class experiences that facilitate connections across a wide range of sectors throughout the US and Canada. These experiences span from curated networking events and VIP roundtables to trade show booths for industries such as Food & Beverage, Technology, Manufacturing, Government Procurement, Consumer Goods, Agriculture, and more.
You will successfully manage relationships with a varying range of internal and external stakeholders and consistently demonstrate effective project management that delivers excellence on time, to budget and aligned to NZTE’s business objectives. At times you may be required to support the North America Marketing and Communications team with broader tasks to ensure team goals and priorities are met.
What you’ll need to be successful – Ō Pūkenga
You may come from an event, project management or marketing and communications background and will have experience in event planning, project management, ideally across a variety of industries. You will have excellent stakeholder/relationship building skills as the ability to build great relationships and liaise with a variety of different internal and external stakeholders is key to success in this role. Along with this you will:
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be proactive, collaborative, and demonstrate a positive, “can do” attitude so that you can support the team with what is needed.
- Be comfortable in an environment that requires flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to the event needs of different industries or stakeholders.
- Be comfortable using a project/event management tool such as Airtable, Monday, Smartsheets, MS Project, or other.
- Bonus points for knowledge of New Zealand culture and experience working as part of a global team.

Please note that salary for this role is influenced by local market expectations; an indicative salary for the role is $100,000-$112,000 base plus paid parking and a premium medical insurance plan, including dental and vision coverage.
