We are seeking an Events Marketing Communications Lead to drive the strategy and execution for audience acquisition and engagement for the Inspire World Tour roadshow series. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all external communications for the World Tour and equipping our Field and Customer Marketing teams with the necessary event assets to ensure their sales teams meet registration goals and achieve strong onsite attendance rates. The Lead will be supported by the Director, Global Strategic Events in the overall strategic planning and comms calendaring. Further, this position will be supported by Field Marketing in each region to support sales team engagement.  This role will collaborate and be supported by Coupa’s Social Media and Creative team members in execution of social and creative design requests.

Note that this is a contract until June 2025

All current and prospective independent contractors must work through a payrolling agency in order to have a business relationship with Coupa.

What you will do:

  • Develop Communications Plan: Create a comprehensive marketing communications plan and calendar for all event marketing activities. Present the plan in slides, worksheets, and Asana for easy tracking and collaboration.
  • Track Registration Metrics: Create and maintain registration tracking documents to monitor WoW and YoY registration data.
  • Lead Audience Acquisition: Facilitate regular meetings with marketing teams, ensuring alignment on goals and strategies.
  • Drive Consistent Messaging: Maintain unified messaging across all marketing communications before, during, and after events, tailored to segmented audiences.
  • Internal Updates: Develop and send internal newsletters to Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams, providing status updates on registrations against pre-set goals and pipeline. 
  • Create Engaging Content: Write compelling digital marketing copy for emails and social media, highlighting key speakers, sessions, experiences, and persona-based attendee journeys.
  • Coordinate Visual Assets: Develop creative briefs outlining visual requirements for internal design teams to produce necessary creative assets.
  • Support Content Team: Collaborate with the content team in abstract copyediting to ensure session content is represented in the best possible way.
  • Email Marketing: Develop and send targeted nurture emails to registered attendees, to ensure their attendance at the event.
  • Present Monthly Updates: Share the communications calendar, assets, and plans in monthly calls with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams.
  • Equip Sales Teams: Create valuable sales resources like agenda templates, "convince your boss" letters, and email templates, making them accessible on our internal sales platform.

What you will bring to Coupa:

  • First and foremost, a can-do attitude
  • Experience in event marketing or SaaS communications, preferably in a B2B marketing environment
  • Ability to present and lead in event team meetings
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and marketing automation platforms (we use Marketo) or Strong understanding and experience with various MarTech solutions: Marketo, Salesforce, Outreach preferred but not mandatory
  • Understanding of event KPIs and metrics, ability to report on campaign successes
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Second language (German) would be advantageous but not mandatory
