- Support small-scale lab experiments and perform essential lab support functions, including but not limited to: media/buffer preparation, aliquoting, bioreactor builds, probe calibrations, autoclaving and aseptic transfers
- Equipment upkeep and participation in inventory stocking activities
- Assistance in the analysis of samples generated from lab scale studies and maintenance of accurate records
- May support one of several projects to improve efficiencies within the Process Sciences labs including development support for an advanced planning/scheduling platform, automation of internal metrics tracking, refining of a department-wide training program or expanded purification support capabilities
- May support implementation of additional continuous improvement objectives
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Coordinates, supports, and monitors performance of team through quality metrics while ensuring client deadlines are met
- Coordinates with client contacts to communicate status of deliverables, determine priorities, and set timelines.
- Set individual and team goals to develop the scope of work and responsibilities of the team
- Manage time off and payroll entries of the team
- May participate in new hire interviews
- Supports the on-boarding process of new employees
- Participates in training of other employees.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Engineering or related field with relevant scientific industry experience
- Professional leadership experience
- cGMP experience is desirable
- Experience with mammalian cell culture expansion using aseptic technique.
- Knowledge of small-scale, fed-batch bioreactors (2L).
- Lab skills in protein separation, filtration, and purification
- Thrive working in a fast-paced environment and can multitask
- Can perform tasks within appropriate timeframes while maintaining accuracy
- Position is full-time Mon-Fri, 2nd shift (6pm-2:30am). Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, NY and the surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.
