Rogue Recruitment is working with a construction company headquartered in Tulsa, OK that is hiring for an Estimator to join their team. This is a direct hire role with compensation ranging from $90-130K/yr, depending on experience. There is also a 10% bonus based on company performance. Note: the range is so wide as they are open to a Mid-Level Estimator or a Senior Estimator.

Requirements:

  • For the mid-level role: at least 1-2 years of estimating/bidding work
  • For the senior-level role: proven experience within the DOT industries doing highway and bridge work
  • Ability to use take-off software (AutoCAD, Agtek Earthwork, Bluebeam)
  • Familiarity with HCSS Heavy-Bid software (or similar)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field

What makes this role unique?

  • They primarily engage in low-bid pursuits for publicly funded projects mostly with state DOTs doing mainly bridge and highway work. Typically, the projects range from $10 million to up to $60 million. *Once the bid goes over $25 million, other members of the team step in to help. There is the VP in this department, two Estimators, and then this position will be rounding out the team.
  • You will have a high level of impact as you are able to see the why behind the work you do. Your work makes a difference, and you can see that. For example, they recently won a $40 million dollar bid a couple of miles away from their office where they know the builders. They are still a small company (though been around for 15 years) so the level of access to senior leadership is there. Their president sits in the Tulsa office and is available.
  • This reports to a VP at the company who has a very laid back management style with high expectations. He is there to support and provide guidance when needed, but is looking for someone who is very self-motivated and self-starting.
  • This role is best for someone with a bit of a strong personality who can defend their bids and is willing to take a stand. This person also needs to be good under pressure, very organized, with great time management.
  • This person can sit in the HQ in Tulsa, OKC, or Springdale, AR. It is considered an onsite role, however they are open to a hybrid environment once this person is onboarded.
